Ingredients
FOR THE BROWNIES:
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup GF all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
FOR THE CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3 tsp pure vanilla extract
FOR THE TOPPINGS:
- rainbow sprinkles
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line pan with non-stick aluminum foil or parchment paper. I used an 8x8 inch glass pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, eggs, and pure vanilla extract.
- Add in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
- Pour batter into pan.
- Bake for about 25 minutes. When a toothpick comes out clean from the center, they're done.
- While the brownies cool, make the chocolate frosting. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add in butter, and then vanilla extract and milk. Mix together with a spatula and then use an egg beater or mixer machine if you have one. This makes the frosting smoother and creamy. If the batter is too thick, you can add a splash of milk at a time. You could cut the frosting recipe in half - I always like more frosting 😉
- Once the brownies have completely cooled, cut them into squares. Generously frost the brownies to make an even layer of chocolate frosting.
- Add rainbow sprinkles all over the frosting.
