We had the most amazing long weekend at Woodloch Resort in the Poconos! Just a quick two-hour drive from us, it was the perfect escape into the beauty of the Pocono Mountains. Woodloch is an all-inclusive resort geared towards families, and I can see why it’s voted the #1 family resort in the US! Woodloch is built on the concept of bringing loved ones together, spending time with one another, and creating memories. We certainly did that here 🙂
Activities:
As for things to do, there’s no shortage of activities at Woodloch. We had a blast go-carting! Brendan and I took turns going with Chloe, and we made sure to hit the track several times every day. Chloe loved the kiddie cars too. We also went ice skating on their synthetic rink and enjoyed tubing down the hill with a beautiful view of the lake.
Chloe and Liam absolutely loved the indoor playground! There’s a space for bigger kids and a separate one for toddlers, so both of them had a great time. We also checked out the kids’ playroom, the arts and crafts room, and the outdoor playground. We played mini-golf and spent time in the indoor pools and slides. On the last day, they had a petting zoo and pony rides! Chloe and Liam had so much fun on their first pony ride!
The resort really caters to families of all ages. With over 30 things happening every day, from outdoor adventures to indoor fun, there’s always something to keep everyone entertained. Other activities for when Chloe and Liam are older include bumper cars, disc golf, archery, and the climbing wall!
Gluten-Free Friendly Resort:
Woodloch is incredibly gluten-free friendly and accommodating! The resort is able to cater to most food allergies and intolerances, including gluten or wheat, shellfish, soy, lactose or milk, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and eggs. They also offer vegetarian options.
Before our trip, I filled out the Special Dietary Request here to let them know I am gluten-free and to provide my travel dates. You can also email SpecialDiets@Woodloch.com or call the Special Diets extension at 570-685-8243 after making your reservation.
The Special Diets Manager emailed me ahead of our stay with a personalized gluten-free menu! She explained that the menu would be available on our table at each meal, and that servers would write my order on a special ticket for the chef to prepare my food safely. The menu also listed gluten-free alternatives like muffins, bread, bagels, brownies, cookies, and more. I was so impressed by the care they took to ensure my meals are safe and how proactive they were in making the dining experience easier for me. Usually, I’m used to having just fruit, salad, and protein options when I travel, but at Woodloch, I could choose from a variety of gluten-free breads, bagels, muffins, fries, pizza, buns, and more!
The food is AMAZING! I especially appreciated that they keep packaged items wrapped to ensure they’re safe. They did this with the gluten-free bread, muffins, cookies, and brookies/brownies. We opted for the 3-meal daily plan, which made mealtime super easy and stress-free. It was so nice not to worry about where to eat or what to cook—just sit down and enjoy delicious home-style meals! There is a kids menu too but my children always eat what we eat and order off the regular menu.

Where We Stayed:
With two children, we now always stays at places with multiple rooms. It’s the only way we will all sleep! We stayed in the Edgewater Suites, and we had an amazing view of the lake. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with two rooms and two bathrooms. The fitness room was in our building so that made it easy for us to take turns working out in the morning.
Until Next Time:
We had the most amazing family getaway at Woodloch Resort! Now that we’ve experienced the resort in the spring, we’re already excited to come back and see what it’s like in the summer and winter. From water sports and hiking in the warmer months to skiing and cozy fireside vibes in the winter, there’s so much to look forward to. Woodloch has definitely earned a spot on our list of places we’ll visit again!
